OUAZ students to finish semester online

Coronavirus fears forces changes to teaching

Ottawa University Arizona sent all of its students home and will finish the semester online.

OUAZ president Dennis Tyner sent out a statement that said the school will “transition the instruction of courses to an online-and/or distance-learning modality.”

“In an effort to adhere to newly emerging social-distancing advisories, OUAZ has encouraged all residential students who are living in university-sponsored housing to return home for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester,” Mr. Tyner said.

Students who are without alternative housing options will be allowed to stay on campus with the approval of the dean of students.

Mr. Tyner said to accommodate students who remain on campus, OUAZ’s food-service provider will offer meal options until the end of the spring semester.

Like most organiztions, OUAZ has created a COVID-19 webpage at ottawa.edu/coronavirus to share updates with students, faculty and staff.
