Northwest Surprise land rezoned for future homes

Buena Vista Ranch rezoned to align with transportation plan

Hundreds of new homes in the planned far northwest Surprise Buena Vista Ranch neighborhood are still years away from development.

But the Surprise City Council still helped make way for them on the land north of Sun Valley Parkway with the approval of a rezone at its Sept. 1 meeting.

The council voted to rezone approximately 422 acres at the northwest corner of 227th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road to a combination of residential low density, residential medium density, residential high density, open space conservation and general industrial.
