These last few months I have been undecided on who to vote for for Surprise City Council District 5.
I had the opportunity to watch the forum put on by the Surprise Chamber of Commerce, and Jack Hastings impressed me the most. My biggest issue in Surprise is public safety. Not only does Jack supports public safety but he is the only Surprise candidate endorsed by police officers this year.
The fact that Jack took the time to go on ride-alongs with both our Surprise Police and Surprise Fire departments show he is dedicated to our safety with actions and not just words.
He spoke with officers and firefighters about the issues they face in our growing city. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic Jack even organized a cleaning supply drive for our first responders who were running short.
He also talked about how he wants to work to bring finer restaurants, jobs, entertainment, and shopping to our city center and not more fast food or storage.
Jack Hastings has earned my vote and I hope you will join me and vote for him as well.
