Kaleel Kelly has been the Willow Canyon boys basketball torch bearer for a long time. Now as a senior, he has more help carrying it than ever before.
Willow Canyon has its best ever team, with a 14-0 regular season record and 19-2 overall. On Jan. 27 the Wildcats picked up their signature win, holding off defending 5A champion Ironwood 74-71 in Surprise.
The 6-3 guard fills up the box score and fills the gaps for the Wildcats, leading in rebounds and assists. After being mentored by senior Pike Tancil in his freshman year, Kelly is continuing the tradition with freshman phenoms Maurice Carter II and Jaydon Hayes.
