Businessman Raymond Grim released the following statement regarding the Surprise City Council election results:

"I want to first thank my amazing wife Rebecca for all of her support and sacrifice as I was out nights and weekends working to earn votes. Thank you to all the friends, family, small business owners, pastors, and residents that financially supported my campaign. I want to thank all the voters that voted for me. It was so humbling to see others support me and my campaign.

"A positive piece of this campaign was that I gained new relationships in this journey including Lew Guyn, who was also on the ballot in District 1. I know he brought great ideas to the table and is a man of high intelligence and integrity.

"My campaign did not receive enough votes to continue in the race for District 1 for Surprise City Council. I congratulate Nick Haney on his victory and can rest assured that I will be supporting him as he brings solutions to our complex issues in District 1.

"Thank you to all those that have reached out after the election to offer support and well-wishes. Everyone keeps asking what I’m going to be doing now. The answer is to continue to volunteer organizing Christmas at Dillon’s where we give a Christmas party for over 200 kids in need complete with a Christmas dinner and gifts the kids ask Santa for, organize EPIC Business Mixers, National Day of Prayer, and Mayor’s Breakfast with the Pastors. If you would like to donate to Christmas at Dillons, please reach out to me. This is such a rewarding event.

"May God bless you, may God bless Surprise, and may God bless the U.S. of A."
