Bench approved to honor former Surprise mayor

Skip Hall served on council for 18 years before retiring in 2024

The Surprise Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission appears ready to move forward on a project to recognize former mayor and longtime councilmember Skip Hall.

After some preliminary recent discussions, the commission voted at its last meeting to spend $5,000 on a powder-coated steel bench with a plaque honoring Hall’s service city at one of the city’s parks.

Hall retired from the council in December after 18 years, the last six as mayor.
