AZ TechCelerator looking to rebrand in Surprise

Program hopes to move location downtown

The AZ TechCelerator, which helps startup businesses in the West Valley, is looking to rebrand its program as it ponders a move to the City Center in Surprise.

Building maintenance of the aging former City Hall complex on Bell Road near El Mirage Road is causing the city to consider other options, including a space in Surprise’s growing City Center.

Surprise Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic has helped the city rope in desired businesses such as Costco, In-N-Out Burger and soon Hobby Lobby in her time there.

But the always positive Jerkovic is especially excited about a possible rebrand of an already successful program that helps small businesses in the West Valley.

“We have always made lemonade, and that’s what entrepreneurship is about,” Jerkovic told the Surprise City Council in May.
