Whenever a new coach takes over a high school football program and brings a largely new staff in, players about to go into their senior year have a natural tendency to wonder where they will fit in.
Seniors want to know if they will be pushed aside to develop players for the future. New Willow Canyon Coach Jeff Bowen said he is worried about this season only.
“We let them know that they were going to get a fresh start,” Bowen said. “We want to be competitive with each other. And one of the things we talk about all the time is having a ‘no soft,” mentality.”
