Cancellations, closures mar city’s 60th year

It was a year that was unimaginable at the beginning of it.

At this time last year, nobody could have imagined how life in Surprise — and around the world — would be changed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

What was supposed to be a celebration for Surprise’s 60th year of incorporation turned into a series of cancellations, job losses, toilet paper shortages and even deaths.
