The West Valley Arts Council is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a unique two-location art exhibit showcasing Latin and Chicano-American artists from across Arizona.

The annual "IMPRINT: Viva La Cultura" exhibit will be presented in the Surprise City Hall Gallery and the Arts HQ Gallery, offering a vibrant exploration of culture, talent, and creativity.

The exhibit will kick off with an opening reception 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, where attendees will have the chance to meet the artists, see a live painting demonstration, watch a performance by the Franchesca Flamenco dancers and sample food from Puerto Rican Pete’s food truck. The event is free and open to all ages.

“We’re excited to bring this colorful and dynamic exhibit to the West Valley,” said Kathy Knecht, Executive Director of WVAC. “Opening night is always a great way to engage with the artists and experience the artwork firsthand. Whether you attend the opening reception or visit later, the exhibit offers a rich, energetic look into the diverse voices and perspectives of our community.”

The exhibit will feature a range of artwork that highlights the diversity of Latin and Chicano-American cultures. Most of the pieces are available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting local artists.

The WVAC provides resources for local artists and promotes cultural initiatives throughout the West Valley.  The Arts HQ Gallery is located at 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza in Surprise.
