The trial for the Surprise man accused of going on a shooting spree and killing one man and injuring a handful of others in the West Valley during 2021 has been delayed.
The suspect, Ashin Tricarico of Surprise, acted alone in shooting several people — one of whom died — during a violent rampage before the suspect eventually was taken into custody, according to police.
“There was a previously assigned trial assignment date of (March 6) — but counsel for defendant requested the trial be continued,” said Jessica Fostinos, spokeswoman for Maricopa County Superior Court. “Counsel for the state did not object to the continuance, and Judge Fish (who is expected to preside over the case) granted to motion for a continuance.”
