The project will include the stretch from Continental Drive to Curry Road. It will begin Aug. 18 and be completed in the spring, according to a release.
The existing number of traffic lanes and medians will be maintained, the release states.

During the initial phase, crews will work on the west side of Scottsdale Road from Curry Road to Weber Drive.
The 24-hour area effects during phase one are:
The southbound traffic curb lane on Scottsdale Road from Curry Road to Weber Drive will be restricted.
The crosswalks, sidewalks, cross streets and driveways along the west side of Scottsdale Road from Curry Road to Weber Drive will be intermittently closed or restricted.
