Work on upgrading Higley High School to accommodate growth and renovate the aging facility is continuing, even after voters rejected the school district’s bond proposal that included money for the project.
However, some projects have been reduced or cut altogether, officials at Higley Unified School District said.
Most evident on campus is construction of a new academic building that will add 12 classrooms and a lecture hall, the pillar of the project’s Phase I. The $8.57 million building was paid for from capital funds and a bond that was approved in 2013.
