Drivers will encounter lane restrictions and ramp closures this weekend as crews begin preparing for a variety of improvements along Loop 303 between Interstate 17 and 51st Avenue.
“I'm sure a lot of drivers are looking forward to direct freeway-to-freeway ramps replacing the current traffic-signal interchange at I-17 and Loop 303,” ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel said of the $129 million project.
It is the first Phoenix-area freeway project funded under the Maricopa Association of Governments’ Proposition 479 regional transportation plan approved by county voters in 2024, state transportation officials said. Funding sources include a half-cent sales tax for regional transportation projects.
