Work begins Monday on Loop 303 West Valley expansion

4-year project will create 4 miles of new freeway

The Arizona Department of Transportation on Monday will begin a $613 million project to extend Loop 303 southward in the West Valley from Van Buren Street to Maricopa County 85.

The improvement, expected to take about four years, will set up an eventual connection with the planned State Route 30, ADOT officials said.

Spanning approximately 4 miles, much of which will follow the current alignment of Cotton Lane, improvements will create three general purpose lanes in each direction between Van Buren Street and Lower Buckeye Road and two general purpose lanes in each direction between Lower Buckeye Road and MC 85.
