Woman killed in single-car collision in south Phoenix

A 67-year-old woman was killed in a single car accident early Thursday morning in south Phoenix, Phoenix Police said Friday in a release.

Officers responded about 8:09 a.m. to the area of 4220 South 35th Avenue regarding a single-vehicle collision, according to the release.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle and its driver, later identified as Bertha Pimentel Urena. The Phoenix Fire Department subsequently pronounced her dead at the scene.
