Woman hit by own vehicle, dies in Phoenix parking lot: PD

Phoenix detectives are investigating a weekend collision where they said it appears a 62-year-old woman was hit by her own vehicle and died in a parking lot.

The collision occurred about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 11 near 8500 South Central Avenue. Officers arrived to find Laura Bigelow, 62, with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Preliminary information suggests Bigelow “parked her vehicle in a nearby parking lot. For unknown reasons, while Bigelow was at least partially out of the vehicle, the vehicle became mobile and struck Bigelow causing the serious injuries,” according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
