Woman dies days after being found beaten in Phoenix alley

A 64-year-old woman has died after Phoenix police found her earlier this month in an alley near 2500 North 46th Street.

Margie New never gained consciousness after she was found about 6:30 a.m. June 13 and taken to a hospital where she died June 21, police said.

An autopsy Monday revealed severe trauma to New’s body, and her death has been ruled a homicide, police said.

A 64-year-old woman has died after Phoenix police found her earlier this month in an alley near 2500 North 46th Street.

Margie New never gained consciousness after she was found about 6:30 a.m. June 13 and taken to a hospital where she died June 21, police said.

An autopsy Monday revealed severe trauma to New’s body, and her death has been ruled a homicide, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
