Woman, 79, remains hospitalized after fatal injuries in 19th Avenue crash

A woman remains hospitalized after she was struck by a vehicle last week while crossing South 19th Avenue, police said.
The crash occurred about 8:10 p.m. July 14 near 19th and Southern avenues where officers responded to find Carrie McGlory, 79, with serious injuries. Authorities intially reported she did not survive.
Detectives’ preliminary information indicates McGlory was in the two-way left-turn lane when she was hit by the vehicle, which entered the lane to make a left turn while traveling south on 19th Avenue, according to a release.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision, police said, and additional details about the crash remain part of an ongoing investigation.
