WM Phoenix Open getting back on track according to police stats

After a couple of years of increasing shenanigans, the WM Phoenix Open looks to be getting back to what it does best — showcase great golf — depending on which statistics you look at from the Scottsdale Police Department.

Chris Gotterup beat Hideki Masuyama by one stroke in a playoff round for the championship, but the real winners may be the guests, according to some numbers.

Scottsdale Police report there were 857 calls for service for the tournament, also known as the People’s Open this year.
