Without crowds, Scottsdale entertainment proves challenging

Of all the people left in the wake of this year’s global pandemic, the entertainment industry is among the most hobbled.

But perspective of a struggling young comedian desperately looking for a stage to perform on is vastly different from the multi-million-dollar organizations providing shows for patrons. For the big guys, this year isn’t about the numbers; while the little guys rely on the numbers to claw their way to the top one show at a time.

The entertainment scene within Scottsdale has been dismantled because of COVID-19 — just like everywhere else in the country — but the opportunity to provide entertainment for the people who do want to spend time away from the house is all the worthwhile, Scottsdale Arts CEO Dr. Gerd Wuestemann says.
