Gas prices in Arizona are already higher than the national average, and could climb even higher in 2022.
According to AAA on Jan. 10, the national average price of gas rose for a second straight week, to $3.306 per gallon. The average price in Arizona, meanwhile, sits at $3.592.
Two days later, crude oil inventories decreased by 4.6 million barrels, according to Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, who adds that inventory sits at 14.3% lower than a year ago and 3% below the five-year average for this time of year. GasBuddy is a tech company that provides real-time gas price information for more than 150,000 stations nationwide.
