The city of Surprise will be looking for a new attorney as Robert Wingo has submitted his resignation to the council.
Wingo’s resignation was accepted during a special meeting Tuesday. The council approved the resignation and having Wingo’s last day be March 1, with him working remote through that time.
Council spent little time discussing the resignation, meeting in executive session behind closed doors to discuss the parameters of Wingo’s remaining contract. Council did not appoint an interim, but directed City Manager Bob Wingenroth to begin searching for a potential replacement.
