The wind howled through Sun City in the evening and early morning Oct. 3-4 and left a swath of damage in its wake.
A bank of dust rolled over the community in the late afternoon of Oct. 3 and the wind followed into the evening. It took down trees, did some property damage and was a factor in at least one serious injury.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mike Redman said there were up to four traffic accidents due to the dust stirred up by the wind. One resulted in a 90-year-old woman being hospitalized. She was reported in critical condition last week.
