William Reeves Ekvall

SUN CITY, Az. - William Reeves Ekvall, passed away the morning of June 7, 2012. He was born June 22, 1915, in Chicago, Ill., but spent a good portion of his life in Oshkosh and Milwaukee, Wis. Bill was a graduate of Oshkosh State Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He moved to Sun City, from Lombard, Ill., upon his retirement from Liberty Mutual (formerly Employers Insurance of Wausau) and immediately became active in many activities. Bill was the Treasurer of the Lawyers Club of Sun City and lent his expertise to the Recreation Centers as a member of their Legal Affairs Committee and Insurance Committee. His work on their behalf was recognized in September of 2000 when he was named Volunteer of the Month. A life-long Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan and avid reader, Bill's true passion was bowling. He was a member of three leagues and a substitute for many others up until his early 90's. Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mil; daughter, Kristin (Glenn) Reiner, of Palatine, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews, including niece, Linda (Len) Marcisz of Scottsdale. A memorial service will be held at United Church of Sun City in the late July to early August timeframe.
