SUN CITY WEST - William 'Bill' Parmenter was born on Jan. 9, 1934 and passed away on Dec. 14, 2012. In his younger days, he was a rodeo bronco rider. He also played the string base, bowled, golfed and rolled a mean bocce ball. A lifetime member of the Elks, he was known as a loyal friend and man of integrity who also loved animals and making his kids and grandkids laugh with his Donald Duck impersonation. His was a life well lived - full of love, joy and meaning and a source of blessing to his family and friends. What more could you ask for? Befitting a man of such vast personality, William 'Bill' Parmenter was born in the big sky country of Montana on Jan. 9, 1934 and ascended to the heavenly chorus on Dec. 14, 2012 from Sun City West, Arizona. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and, while stationed in Germany, performed on the radio as part of a singing quartet. Today, he is lifting his voice once again - this time in praise to the God he served so faithfully during his life here with us. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda Nielson and his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Martha Fair, who lost her battle with cancer in 2001. He is survived by wife, Kathleen; daughter, Cheryl Steuer and her husband, Steve, daughter Deborah Nelson and her husband, Paul,; granddaughter, Christen Moffatt and her husband Curtis, granddaughter Jennelle; great-grandson Corbin; stepsons, Jeff, John and Mark Robson, who adored him; nephew, Chuck; and his dog, Lilly. From the strong work ethic he passed along to his beloved daughters to the many cherished family camping vacations to carefree days spent fishing with his granddaughters, each and every memory of Bill will always bring a smile to our face and warmth to our hearts. And while we will miss his presence here, we take great joy in knowing we will see him again in eternity and in looking forward to that blessed reunion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in honor of William Parmenter to Hospice of Arizona, 1830 North 95th Ave., Suite 110, Phoenix, Arizona 85037. Memorial Services pending.
