Beckmann, 78 SURPRISE, AZ. - William 'Bill' Beckmann, of Bell West Ranch, died Thursday, April 26, 2012. Born on October 29, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Ida Gebauer and Bernhard Beckmann of Feasterville, Pa.; and husband of the late Erna Beckmann. He was inducted into the Army in 1953 and was assigned to Co C 29th Sig Bn (CONST) APO 28, as a General Draftsman. During enlistment he attended the Engineering School, US Army, in Murnaul, Germany. He served in Mannheim, Germany from 8/1953 thru 1/1955. After being an electro-mechanical packaging designer for many years, Bill retired from Honeywell in 1999. During his high school days he was part of the Osmond Post Cadets Drum & Bugle Corp. After retirement, Bill created a legacy website, osmondpostcadets.com, dedicated to his Drum Corp comrades and currently being maintained by his son Ted. He is survived by two sons, Theodore 'Ted' Beckmann and wife Susan of Marion Station, Md., and William Bernhard Beckmann and wife Debbie of Northridge, Calif; four grandchildren, Leanne, Mark, Cody, Jesse; great-grandson, Jacob; brother, Paul Beckmann and wife Joan of Perkasie, Pa.; sister-in-law, Margot Kohlmeyer of Ludwigshafen, Germany; niece, Christine Fischer and husband Dietmar of Ludwigshafen, Germany; nephews, Steven, Michael, and Jonathan Schmidt; niece, Amanda Schmidt; and nephew, Kenneth Beckmann.
