SUN CITY WEST - William E. (Bill) Drury passed away after a short illness on Aug. 1, 2014. Bill was born in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 25, 1934. His parents were Paul Oliver Drury and Edith Madelyn Hebert Drury. The family lived in nearby Virginia and when Bill was 9 years old, he and his mother moved to Westwood, Calif. and later to Santa Monica, Calif. Bill attented Military Academy, Notre Dame High School, and the University of Southern California. Bill's profession was banking, real estate, and financial printing. After retirement, he moved to Palm Springs, purchased a motel, which he ran himself. After a time, he sold the motel and spent his time traveling, volunteering at Palm Springs Tram and also worked as a guide. Later Bill moved to Sun City West, Ariz. Bill was a sports enthusiast. He was a superb tennis and volleyball player, surfed, swam, skied, fished, and hunted. You name it, he did it. He was also a super cook and loved gardening. He loved spending time in their cabin at Twin Lakes in Mammoth, Calif. Bill is loved by Lilian and their children, Alison, Rick, and Jennifer as well as grandchildren, Cassidy and Ella. Bill we will miss you.
