Sun City Home Owners Association officials were ready to go door-to-door in a campaign to gather support for revisions to the covenants, conditions and restrictions.
Then the COVID-19 pandemic sprang upon the community in early 2020 and the effort was put on hold. CC&R revisions got pushed further back on the burner when its spearhead, Jim Hunter, then SCHOA board president, was forced to leave the post due to health reasons. CC&R revisions remained deep in the background until October when a resident began construction of a large detached garage in northeast Sun City.
It was large garages being built that jump started the original effort to revise the CC&Rs.
