OPINION — I have worked alongside Ashley Harder for more than a decade on projects that brought together art, history, veterans and communities across Phoenix. In all those years, one thing has remained constant: When Ashley commits to something, she shows up and does the work.
Our friendship began through a shared commitment to Arizona’s veterans. At the time, I was working with others to establish a Minority Veterans Memorial at Wesley Bolin Plaza. Ashley immediately understood why the project mattered and stepped forward to help advocate for it.
That was only the beginning.
