OPINION — I have no problem naming a highway after Charlie Kirk.
He did hold honest debates with our young people all over the country. He influenced that youth to think, and to decide what standards they want to live by. No, not everyone liked or agreed with him, but he has been every bit an influence on youth as was Martain Luther King Jr. on Black people in this country.
King’s work also brought about a change that many fought. He wasn’t liked by everyone, and he was challenged, too. It’s sad that we as a people can’t support things that affect so many.
The youth that followed Charlie Kirk may or may not continue their efforts, but it is a certainty that they have choices and information that they may not have otherwise had if it weren’t for Charlie Kirk.
We can’t cower every time the media mouth pieces condemn something. How many of them can actually say that they read or studied Kirk and his desire to rebuild family values in this country? Are we really better off without those values?
