Who’s Who in the Camera Guild of Sun City: Jean Methot

Posted

Jean Methot is a passionate photographer residing in Brossard, Quebec during the spring-summer and basking in the warm Arizona sun during the fall-winter. As easterners, he and his wife Elizabeth decided to forgo the usual migration to Florida and instead picked Sun City for the optimum weather, friendly environment and welcoming atmosphere.

Methot started college studying aircraft technology, which culminated into a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. This is where his interest in photography started and has continued to grow and develop over the years. As he witnessed the trans-formative shift from film to digital photography he became aware of endless possibilities and creative avenues. This was a milestone in his photographic journey.

Presently, landscape photography has become his canvas. In his words, “Capturing the beauty of nature, with each photograph telling a story, is a testament to my keen observation of the environment that surrounds me. The camera lens has become my tool for interpreting the world’s intricacies as I find beauty in each frame.”

Methot enjoys sharing his passion with like minds in the Camera Guild, an environment where ideas flourish, techniques are exchanged and the art of photography is celebrated in all forms. He finds this a privilege and a joy as it provides moments of solace in the midst of life’s bustling demands. He also enjoys working with wood and listening to jazz however photography is his passion and, in his words, “I continue to explore the art of photography, capturing the essence of the world one click at a time.”
