Whitfield: In response to letter writer, says makes own choices

Since my name was mentioned in the letter by Deb Howard entitled (“Stop blindly believing, do the research,” Sun City Independent, Feb. 9. 2022), here is my response.

First, I do not watch “mainstream media” in which to base my decisions. After spending several years studying medicine and knowing this 73 year-old body, I make my own choices which are best for me.

Whitfield: In response to letter writer, says makes own choices

Posted

Since my name was mentioned in the letter by Deb Howard entitled (“Stop blindly believing, do the research,” Sun City Independent, Feb. 9. 2022), here is my response.

First, I do not watch “mainstream media” in which to base my decisions. After spending several years studying medicine and knowing this 73 year-old body, I make my own choices which are best for me.

How dare you lump me into a category who doesn’t seem to have a mind of their own and cannot make informed decisions? Most of my life I have taken care of my body and rarely am ill.

I participated in research for the shingles vaccine for 50-59 year olds, which got approved, and am currently (3 years) in a respiratory synovial virus study for seniors over 65 years and have been in Mayo Clinic’s research for dementia for the last 23 years in the control group (brain “normal”).

I do not require medications, but I do take a Vitamin D3 supplement. So, let’s just agree to disagree on the pandemic issue.

Enjoy your retirement!

Regards.
