White Sox pitchers, catchers report for 1st spring practice in Glendale

Fans brave cold for autographs, look ahead to new MLB rules

It still felt like football, with a 9 a.m. temperature of 39 degrees and with State Farm Stadium just 10 minutes away taking down its Super Bowl signs.

But no doubt about it. Baseball’s back.

Fans braved the Wednesday morning cold to get a glimpse of the field’s first workouts of the spring as Chicago White Sox pitchers and catchers opened practice. The Los Angeles Dodgers – their Camelback Ranch spring partners – host their first spring practice at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
