Wheat: We must think about conserving water in Arizona
Almost every time I frequent a restaurant, the first thing that a server does is to give me is a glass of water filled with ice whether I want it or not; incidentally I do because I drink a lot of water.
However, I have seen just the opposite where the server puts the water on the table for the customers and the water is never touched.

Almost every time I frequent a restaurant, the first thing that a server does is to give me is a glass of water filled with ice whether I want it or not; incidentally I do because I drink a lot of water.
However, I have seen just the opposite where the server puts the water on the table for the customers and the water is never touched.
I don’t think servers should give customers water until they ask for it.
What are the benefits:
The server will not have to take time to bring you water especially if you don’t want it.
Refills would not be necessary allowing servers to attend to your or other customer requests.
The glass will not take up space on the table.
There would be less water used for cleaning these glasses. Less cleaning of glasses would mean less soap and water going into our sewer system.
Less water used for making ice cubes that are going to be thrown away.
Less electricity used for cleaning glasses and making ice.
