Metallica is making a stop on their M7 tour with two shows at the State Farm Stadium on Friday Sept. 1 and Sunday Sept. 3. Here's what you need to know if you are attending the concert, wanting to go or even preparing for traffic.

Metallica concert this weekend brings changes in Glendale

Metallica is making a stop on their M7 tour with two shows at the State Farm Stadium on Friday Sept. 1, and Sunday Sept. 3.

Here's what you need to know if you are attending the concert, wanting to go or even preparing for traffic.

Metallica will have the lineup of opening acts each night featuring Pantera and Mammoth WVH palying on Friday with Five Finger Death Punch and Ice Nine Kills preforming on Sunday.

This will be the bands first preformance in seven years.

 Tickets are available for a two-day pass to both shows.

If you're going

Staduim parking lots open at 3 p.m. and doors opening  at 4 p.m. The concert starts at 6 p.m. 

The staduim permits clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches  are only allowed inside the venue.

 Small  bags no bigger than 4.5 inches by 6 inches. are permitted.

Parking

 General parking at the staduim is $25 per vehicle, per day through SeatGeek and spaces tend to go quickly during special events.

Guests can also park at Westgate Entertainment District for $30 per vehicle.

A  ride-share pick-up and drop-off is on the Black Lot located south of the stadium along Cardinals Way between 91st and 95th avenues.

Heavy traffic is expected to start two to three hours before doors open.

Prohibited Items

  • Aerosol Cans
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Animals (except for documented service animals)
  • Bags that do not meet NFL guidelines (must be clear and less than 12” x 12” x 6” in size)
  • Beverages other than one factory-sealed, non-frozen 16.9-ounce plain bottle of water (sport drinks and flavored water not permitted)
  • Beverage containers – glass bottles, cans and thermoses
  • Cameras with professional lenses (larger than 8 inches) and tripods/monopods
  • Chewing tobacco
  • E-cigarettes/Vaporizer Pens
  • Clothing deemed obscene or indecent in a public setting
  • Coolers of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Food (except for children under the age of two years old)
  • Footballs and beach balls (inflated or deflated)
  • Illegal drugs
  • Laptop computers
  • Laser Pointers
  • Noise makers of any kind (whistles, horns, bells, etc.)
  • Poles or Sticks of any kind, including “Selfie-Sticks” and brooms
  • Seat cushions except those which are one piece and have no zippers, pockets or concealable areas
  • Golf carts, skateboards, rollerblades or hoverboards
  • Umbrellas larger than 12 inches in length
  • Unmanned aircraft systems (drones, etc.)
  • Video Cameras (single purpose)
  • Weapons of any kind including, but not limited to, firearms & knives
  • Any item deemed inappropriate or hazardous by stadium security
