Celebrate everything Ireland at a weekend experience at Musical Instrument Museum for St. Patrick’s Day.

Experience Ireland offers live music, dance performances, hands-on workshops, and storytelling to showcase the rich traditions of Ireland. The celebration takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, at MIM, located at 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., in Phoenix.

All activities happen on Saturday and Sunday:

Craft: Harp, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Try making your own miniature Irish harp.

Instrument Spotlight: Concertina and Harp, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Create a fun atmosphere by trying out a concertina and harp while you visit the museum.

Music-Making Workshop, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Join Junior Museum Guides for a fun, family-friendly musical activity that teaches guests to play and dance to Irish traditional music.

Youth-led Mini Tours, 10 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.

Follow Junior Museum Guides on a short, informative tour of MIM’s galleries with a special focus on harps from around the world.

Irish Storytelling: Heart Strings, 10:30-11 a.m.

Listen to Irish folk tales as told by Celtic storyteller Chrissy Dart and harpist Jocelyn Obermeyer.

Performance: Scott Jeffers, 11:15 a.m.-noon

Enjoy a captivating Celtic performance by soloist Scott Jeffers.

Curator Talk: A Shipwreck, Raisins, and Salt: A Unique Irish Musical Instrument, noon-12:30 p.m.

Join Matthew Zeller, MIM’s curator for Europe, to explore the history and music of the sultana, a rare musical instrument from Ireland that can be seen in Stradivarius and the Golden Age of Violins and Guitars.

Performance: Devil’s Brigade, 1-1:45 p.m.

Rock out to a performance from North American Celtic band the Devil’s Brigade.

Pop-Up Performance: Gilbert Town Fiddlers, 2-2:15 p.m.

A youth pop-up performance from the Gilbert Town Fiddlers.

Performance: Bracken School of Irish Dance, 2:30-3 p.m.

Step and clap along to a lively performance from the Bracken School of Irish Dance.

Workshop: Irish Step Dancing, 3:30-4 p.m.

Learn Irish step dance moves in this workshop.
