Arpi Hamilton is a wife, mother, Cancer Treatment Centers of America employee, and an active cancer fighter with a mission to educate Arizonans on cancer prevention and wellness.
On Aug. 15, 2020, the third anniversary of Mrs. Hamilton’s cancer remission, she was crowned Mrs. Arizona America 2020. She represented West Valley cities as Mrs. West Valley, competing in interview, bathing suit and evening gown. She also won Best Interview and Best Evening Gown.
This month, Mrs. Hamilton, 42, is scheduled to represent Arizona at the Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas. The pageant is tentatively scheduled for March 19-27, but dates are subject to change because of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the pageant website, mrsvtamerica.com.
As Mrs. Arizona America, Mrs. Hamilton is dedicating her reign to her life’s mission to educate others on early detection, cancer awareness and helping support patients throughout their cancer treatment.
This is not just a platform. Mrs. Hamilton, who was 36 when she was diagnosed with triple breast cancer in December 2016, lives and breathes the mission every day, according to a release.
Told she had a 25% survival rate, she went into survival mode and changed the way that she saw her life, working on her mental and physical abilities. She fought vigorously with her team at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and won. Through her journey, she embraced a healthy lifestyle for her mind, body and spirit.
Her motto is “Be Brave and Fight Like A Girl.”
“I decided to compete because I wanted to do something big for myself and my family. I wanted to educate Arizonans, sharing my knowledge and my personal story,” Mrs. Hamilton said. “Focused on my life’s mission, I will educate others about preventative screenings and cancer awareness. I am dedicated to my health, wellness, cancer advocacy and survivorship.”
Mrs. Hamilton is senior loyalty specialist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear, 14200 W. Celebrate Life Way.
CTCA is a national network of cancer hospitals with locations across the U.S. In her job, Mrs. Hamilton leads the engagement efforts for thousands of cancer fighters, and focuses on educating those with cancer from treatment to survivorship.
She also serves as a committee member and volunteer for the nonprofit Arizona Assistance in Healthcare, raising funds to help cancer patients being treated throughout the Valley with non-medical expenses such as rent, mortgage, groceries and daycare expenses.
Mrs. Hamilton also volunteers with the Gateway for Cancer Research, Singletons Cancer Organization, American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen. She has been a featured speaker with numerous cancer support organizations locally and nationally.
“I am lucky to get to do this on a national and regional level for Cancer Treatment Centers of America and get to help not only my fellow Arizonans, but patients from all over the United States,” she said.
Mrs. Hamilton was crowned by Amy Walters, Mrs. Arizona American 2019 and a fellow CTCA employee.
She is has been happily married to Jason, her high school sweetheart and best friend, for 24 years. The Hamiltons are parents to two adult children, Natalie and Logan.
