West Valley shooting leaves man dead, police search for suspect

Phoenix detectives are investigating a Friday morning shooting that left a man dead near 53rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

Officers responded to the scene about 12:20 a.m. Jan. 10 and found Samuel Rocha, 47, with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital but did not survive, police said.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip.

Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
