The Buckeye Police Department has been awarded a $20,000 grant to help combat impaired driving through next spring.
The money comes from the DUI Abatement Council in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. It will help to cover enforcement costs, according to a release.
“Task force operations supported by grant funds allow Buckeye police to team up with regional law enforcement partners to regularly boost traffic enforcement coverage across our city,” officials stated in the release.

The money comes from the DUI Abatement Council in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. It will help to cover enforcement costs, according to a release.
“Task force operations supported by grant funds allow Buckeye police to team up with regional law enforcement partners to regularly boost traffic enforcement coverage across our city,” officials stated in the release.
The grant provides more than $14,000 for overtime and more than $5,000 for employee-related expenses.
