West Valley nonprofits get boost from $417K in grants

Almost 100 Phoenix-area nonprofits received a financial boost from nearly $417,000 in grants divvied up to help groups with services such as education and diversity programs.
The grants came from Cox Charities, an arm of cable and telecommunications provider Cox Communications, which raises money and grants funds to support Arizona nonprofit organizations.
Cox Charities gave out $416,750 to 92 nonprofit organizations in the Valley. Each group received from $1,100 to $10,000.
