The Hazen Fire in the Southwest Valley remains at 992 acres with 10% containment, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management said Tuesday.
According to spokeswoman Tiffany Davila, 129 firefighters are on site working the fire, which has most of those firefighters on the northeast side of the blaze, where it is the most active.
“We hope to do some mapping operations today to get a better idea of the size and scope of this fire,” Davila said. “We did some firing operations on Monday that may have made it look like the fire was intensifying, but in actuality was working to break the fire down.”
