Glendale ordinance adds punishment for repeat code offenders

Surprise has no special ordinance, Goodyear cracks down on weeds

Later this week, Glendale plans to add some teeth to its code enforcement when a repeat offender ordinance takes effect.

The are among several West Valley cities looking at code issues and how to deal with different challenges regarding property.

The Glendale ordinance takes effect July 11 after its council unanimously approved it June 11. Homeowners with three of the same violations in 12 months would result in a fine ranging from $100 to $1,000,and between $150 and $1,000 for subsequent violations.
