A man was hospitalized after being run over following a shooting at his ex-girlfriend’s house in what Buckeye police called a “chaotic situation.”

Just before 8:30 p.m. Aug. 18, Buckeye police received reports of shots fired on Shooting Star Lane. As officers were responding, police received a report of a crash in the area near Maricopa Road and Sunset Point Boulevard, according to a release.

Officers arrived at the crash scene and found a man in his 50s lying on the ground with a gun nearby. Officers provided aid until medical crews arrived to take man, who was not identified, to a hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.

Detectives learned the man had gone to his ex-girlfriend’s house on Shooting Star Lane and threatened her, violating an active order of protection, police said.

A teen who lives in the home reported he told the suspect to leave, and the suspect shot at him before driving away in a truck, police said, adding the teen got in his car and was leaving the area when he spotted the suspect’s truck.

“The teen reported that the suspect got out of the truck and pointed a gun at him. The teen ran over the suspect, injuring him,” the release stated.

An investigation continues, and, as of Tuesday, no arrests had been made.
