West Valley brush fire 78% contained

The Hazen Fire southeast of Buckeye has been 78% contained, authorities said Thursday.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management planned to reduce Friday morning the number of resources being used to fight the fire, which has covered 1,191 acres.

“Thanks to the hard work of firefighters over the past week, incident objectives are being met,” a department release stated.
