In observance of Black History Month, and in recognition of the contributions African-American artists have made in the community and the greater culture, West Valley Arts Council is presenting its newest exhibition, “Imprint: African-Americans in the Arts.”
The free show, in partnership with Onyx Art and Events, runs through Friday, March 5 at the council’s Arts HQ Gallery, 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza.
Those who want to see the exhibit must register for a date and time to visit the gallery and adhere to mask and distancing requirements.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

In addition to the exhibit, “Imprint” will feature weekly performances, workshops, lectures and classes at Arts HQ Gallery and at venues around the West Valley.
“These Arizona artists spark thoughtful and captivating dialogue through visual and interactive concepts,” gallery officials said in a news release.
The arts council serves communities throughout the West Valley, including Surprise, Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Peoria, Sun City, Sun City West, Tolleson, Youngtown and Waddell.
