Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC), a career and technical education public school district with a corporate center in Glendale, has reported its academic results halfway through the 2022-23 school year.

During the fall semester, 836 students earned at least one industry-recognized credential for a total of 1,446, according to a school news release.

West-MEC’s attendance rates are also outperforming the national average for high school students. Approximately 94% of students have fewer than 10 absences, and 70% have less than five. Also, 314 students have zero absences on the year.

“The instructors are great. They are always there to help, and I feel very welcomed by all of them,” current 2022-23 Aviation Maintenance Technology student Nick Baird shared. “If there is anybody out there thinking about applying, grab the opportunity while it is in front of you.”

West-MEC’s Glendale Corporate Center is located at 5487 N. 99th Ave. West-MEC also has a Central Campus at 6997 N. Glen Harbor Blvd., in Glendale.

At the school year’s halfway point, 99.9% of the 2,219 enrolled students earned credit during the fall semester, and 98% of these students achieved a C grade or better.

West-MEC serves more than 37,000 students from 48 high schools across 3,800 square miles in the northern and western cities of the Phoenix Metro. West-MEC also offers adult education programs.
