Users urge city to reconsider ending microtransit program

Tamara Ramirez lives in a home near Dysart Road and Grand Avenue where she helps take care of her single mother.

She doesn’t have a car, and no high schools or charter schools offered bus service to her area. So, she had to start relying on other modes of transportation.

“I very often feel like the city was not made for people like me,” Ramirez told the Surprise City Council during its June 17 regular meeting about the city’s decision to end the WeRIDE microtransit pilot program at the end of the month.
