Weekend tunnel work closes I-10 in central Phoenix

Drivers traveling along I-10 through central Phoenix should plan to use alternate routes at night and in early morning hours this weekend, May 15-17, while sections of the freeway are closed for regularly scheduled tunnel maintenance.

Several ramps connecting I-10 with Loop 202, State Route 51 and Interstate 17 also will be closed, state transportation officials said.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time while the following closures are in place:
