Weather Service forecasts extreme heat in Maricopa, Pinal counties through Aug. 28

The National Weather Service on Friday tacked on another week during which residents of Maricopa and Pinal counties will encounter extreme heat.

Temperatures in the region could top out at 116 degrees through Friday, Aug. 28.
